It’s Friday, so Just Relax™

“No matter how much pressure you feel at work, if you could find ways to relax for at least five minutes every hour, you’d be more productive.”

-Dr. Joyce Brothers

Before there was Dr. Phil, or Dr. Laura, there was Dr. Joyce Brothers. Dr. Joyce was a pioneer in the field of television psychology in the 1950s, and her career spanned 40 years. Her thoughts on productivity have been supported by research–we tend to do better work if we give ourselves rest at regular intervals. That means getting up and stretching your legs, or just changing your focus to something other than work. Remember that visiting the water cooler isn’t your only option during breaks. You can get creative! Do you crush brain teasers? Were you a 90s hacky sack wiz? Do you long to answer a quiz telling you what magical creature you are? Don’t be afraid to do what the doctor orders; find yourself a handful of minutes now and then to relax throughout the day.

Time to relax

Enjoy your weekend 🙂
