“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.”
-William S. Burroughs
Burroughs was an American author and writer who was part of the Beat Generation, a literary movement that emphasized non-conformity, spirituality, and creativity. It’s not surprising then that he took a wait-and-see approach to answering questions. And why not? All week your mind is chugging away at finding the answers in work and life, and sometimes all of that thinking takes its toll. The weekend is a perfect time to step away from any nagging issues and let your subconscious do some of the work. When you return to work, your eyes fresh and your brain primed, new answers might emerge that you hadn’t considered. Relaxation has its own place in problem solving, so you might as well get started on it now.
